The Little Ones

My granddaughters. They are a bundle of joy. S'Ahmisa is learning how to play softball, I wonder if she would try to play professionally. If she did, she would have to leave the isle. I would miss her a lot, of course. But you can't hold children back. She seems to have her mind on seeing new places and traveling. I want to make sure that she has the opportunity to go. Elle and I are taking our own vacation the next simday and this simweekend (once Si'Enya is a child), the family is going to take a joint vacation...I'm not sure that I'll be around that much longer. My body seems much older.

My Wife and Family

The season has been very nice and warm, so we are eating outside more often. Grilling fish and hot dogs and sometimes ribs for lunch and dinner. Talking about the future, the past and the present.

Talking about the sky and the moons and the stars. Simply listening to the songbirds and wind.

Semi-Retirement

With my days at CupaJava numbered, I opt to spend them baking in the comfort of my own home, visiting local sights and doing shopping. This simday I went to the market-hihi, this little sim went to the market :P

Retirement

I have stepped back from CupaJava, I spend my days baking a few items for the shop-Sazo hired a baker, so there's no need for me to travel there. I wish Elle would retire as well, we could do lots of things. She wants to go on vacation-but will she take the time off?

Changes

We have moved to Granny Smith Lane. I must say the kids did a good job finding this house. It used to belong to a celebrity couple and it is very well planned. There are three large bedrooms upstairs, plenty of open living space downstairs and garage. I don't like that the yard space is limited especially with a granddaughter that will soon be walking and talking and running about. I will tell Sazo that he might have to do something about that. Oh, another change-we are listed under Warwick. Sazo is going to take Sandy's surname...not sure how I feel about that.

Passing things on

I have been spending almost every waking hour talking to Sazo about the business, trying to teach him the ways and sharing my connections. He doesn't seem to interested, especially with his new daughter. He's easily distracted, but fatherhood does that to you.
Soon I will pass the deed to CupaJava to him, allow him to manage the business and offically step back and spend my time baking goodies and training the trainee...if we ever get one. Actually, there's an interest for the position from a college student-Ms. Jolie Dawson, she's actually Elle's niece and I can vouch and say that the young lady can cook...but can she bake.

Business Outlook

I've been training Sazo about connection skills and soon, this shop will be his. I must admit, he's done vast improvements, the bakery, the custom coffees for sale, and even the deal with Pennelson Publishing to sell books. I think I will need to focus on finding a baker to replace me...maybe we'll find a sim at the Food Expo contests. Yes...I will be one of the judges and we can find a baker and train them to bake!

Business is Booming

I am glad we decided to add the bakery to CupaJava. It has been a hit. Residents love the new cakes and pastries. Sazo and I are going to add a selection of coffees and teas in addition to the books and magazines. I must contact Pennelson Publishing to get the latest copies of thier books. I hear the autobiographies of Josie Harlow and Carla Niven are going to be released soon.

Business as Usual

Finally we rehired the old employees-well, most of them. Silas is back working with us as a barista, or is it baristo for men? Matthew is back, not as a manager as before, but a cashier. We decided it would be best since Sazo and I both work at the shop and we can do sales and misc work around the store. I've been baking cakes and pies as fast as I can, but we still sell out of them rather quickly.

We're ordering custom uniforms for the staff, a new menu board for the shop and I'm even importing some new recipes to sell new baked goods in the store. I must admit, Sazo made a good move by expanding the coffee shop to sell baked goods and books as well. He is considering adding a small section to sell coffee makers, but I think we should focus on custom items.
