Remodeling?

Thinking about renovating CupaJava, at least designing a logo and getting a sign and matching uniforms. That would be nice, must think about it some more.

Summer

I love the summer and grilling, especially since we had our backyard landscaped-it may be small, but it's very nice. There are plenty of plants and a nice shady area for sitting and having conversation. S'Ahmisa loves it out here, she's always crawling after the butterflies and playing with her doll.

City Vacation

I purchased a nice vacation package for Darrel and I-we're going to the city-I hope he likes it-lots of plays, casinos and more. We're actually traveling to Tiki Island-well, the downtown area of it on the second island, not the main island. I need to find something suitable.

Birthday

S'Ahmisa had her toddler birthday this simday! She's such a beautiful little girl. Sandy and I are also expecting another child which is very exciting. She's been so tired lately, I wonder if it would be twins. Elda and I are twins, my cousins Ayanna and Ajani are twins, Ayanna's children are twins. I wonder...?

Retirement

I have stepped back from CupaJava, I spend my days baking a few items for the shop-Sazo hired a baker, so there's no need for me to travel there. I wish Elle would retire as well, we could do lots of things. She wants to go on vacation-but will she take the time off?

Travels

Should we go on vacation? Darrel and I? It would be a good anniversary trip. Perhaps to Kimikura, such a lovely island with great culture, maybe that would be nice. A nice break from work and Darrel needs the break from the coffee shop-Sazo can handle things at home. Yes, I will do it!

The Next Generation

I haven't spoken with Elda in a while, I know that she has been working hard as a science teacher downtown and also part-time with the AVSA. I doubt that she will be able to become an inventor-not only does she lack the desire, but she lacks the drive. What's going on? Will the next generation not aspire to downtown jobs, only working for local businesses? What about technical jobs-will there not be any?

Husband

Sandy and I are married now. The ceremony was held at home and we spent a relaxing honeymoon at Three Lakes...well, I thought it was relaxing..at times. Sandy kept me a bit busy *wink wink* since we want to give S'Ahmisa a little sibling soon. Hopefully we won't have twins, but who knows. O, on our honeymoon we did a lot of camping, hiking and fishing. I thought Sandy wouldn't like it and so did she, but she said that she had a good time. After the vacation I feel so refreshed and alive! I can't wait to get back to work with CupaJava!

Changes

We have moved to Granny Smith Lane. I must say the kids did a good job finding this house. It used to belong to a celebrity couple and it is very well planned. There are three large bedrooms upstairs, plenty of open living space downstairs and garage. I don't like that the yard space is limited especially with a granddaughter that will soon be walking and talking and running about. I will tell Sazo that he might have to do something about that. Oh, another change-we are listed under Warwick. Sazo is going to take Sandy's surname...not sure how I feel about that.

Going well...too well?

CupaJava is doing well and dad has taken to supplying local weddings with custom cakes-he started with the Vanderburg-Garris wedding cake and is now working on a design for the Shazad wedding cake. With him busy with that, I decided to offer the baker's job to a university student. Once she graduates she'll bake for us full time. I need to review the menu and make condense the baked goods we offer...or at least switch them daily. We have breakfast pasteries...which are a treat and families love them as well as individual servings of desserts and cakes...should we stop the individual servings?

Moving

Well, since we are elders and Sazo is coming into his own, Darrel and I are stepping back more and more, which means it's up to him to chose where we're moving to next...as long as it isn't that affordable housing area, I don't think we would like that...successful business owners forced to stay there-no thank you.

O-side note, Sandy gave birth to a little girl. I have two granddaughters now.

Passing things on

I have been spending almost every waking hour talking to Sazo about the business, trying to teach him the ways and sharing my connections. He doesn't seem to interested, especially with his new daughter. He's easily distracted, but fatherhood does that to you.
Soon I will pass the deed to CupaJava to him, allow him to manage the business and offically step back and spend my time baking goodies and training the trainee...if we ever get one. Actually, there's an interest for the position from a college student-Ms. Jolie Dawson, she's actually Elle's niece and I can vouch and say that the young lady can cook...but can she bake.

Baba

I'm a baba (father), Sandy delivered our first child, S'Ahmisa Warwick. A beautiful little girl. She is my pride and joy.
We're moving, the question is where. There is a house for sale on Granny Smith, it's not yet on the market, but the owners are looking at a house on Royal Gala because the owners of the second house are looking to move to an affordable house on Fuji. Whew! Such a circle. I hope things work out. The house is nice, two stories, three bedrooms, two baths and a spacious common areas. Only thing is that it is a bit expensive, but we're going to get a mortgage on the home. Of course it would need redecorating in our own unique style. I can't wait to start S'Ahmisa's nursery and start making another baby for her.

Food Expo Starts

The Food Expo had a lovely start, we even had a night BBQ in the backyard. I don't know why Darrel and Sazo sunk so much money into the patio, we have until simMonday to move out of the complex and into a "traditional" single family home or elsewhere. We'll probably buy one of the homes being built on Fuji Court. Elda and her family will have to move...again. I feel sorry for them, but I'm sure they will survive.

Food Expo Preperation

The food expo starts tomorrow simday. Darrel is very excited about it, CupaJava isn't a designated site, but he hopes that the coupons and discounts given during the Food Expo will generate more business. Sazo's fiance, Sandy, moved in with us since the hood council reclaimed her flat. There have been some changes with flat ownership, thankfully we owned our before the changes were inacted. O, we'll be grandparents soon. Elda is due any simday now and Sazo just announced that he and Sandy are expecting a child. I wonder how that will affect thier wedding plans?

I will be a

a father. Sandy told me that she's pregnant. Pregnant! I'll be a father. Sandy moved in with me...before we found out she was pregnant. Maybe now we'll need the space of the downstairs apartment :\ too late, the hood has reclaimed it and now Sandy and I live with mom and dad and soon there will be another sim. A baby! I'm going to be a father!

Business Outlook

I've been training Sazo about connection skills and soon, this shop will be his. I must admit, he's done vast improvements, the bakery, the custom coffees for sale, and even the deal with Pennelson Publishing to sell books. I think I will need to focus on finding a baker to replace me...maybe we'll find a sim at the Food Expo contests. Yes...I will be one of the judges and we can find a baker and train them to bake!

Big Plans and Big Future

Whew! She said yes. I'm so happy. Yes...what a beautiful word.

What Next?

Business is going well, I'm planning on proposing to Sandy, the weather is warming and things are going well. But, what's next? We're going to start selling bags of flavored coffee and teas (the shipment arrived and it's delicious), also we pre-ordered the autobiographies from Pennelson Publishing, dad's busy with baking and we're budgeting for hiring a baker as he's getting older and will want to retire soon. We need to do some renovations to the building, make it a better flow for customers.

Business is Booming

I am glad we decided to add the bakery to CupaJava. It has been a hit. Residents love the new cakes and pastries. Sazo and I are going to add a selection of coffees and teas in addition to the books and magazines. I must contact Pennelson Publishing to get the latest copies of thier books. I hear the autobiographies of Josie Harlow and Carla Niven are going to be released soon.

Business as Usual

Finally we rehired the old employees-well, most of them. Silas is back working with us as a barista, or is it baristo for men? Matthew is back, not as a manager as before, but a cashier. We decided it would be best since Sazo and I both work at the shop and we can do sales and misc work around the store. I've been baking cakes and pies as fast as I can, but we still sell out of them rather quickly.

We're ordering custom uniforms for the staff, a new menu board for the shop and I'm even importing some new recipes to sell new baked goods in the store. I must admit, Sazo made a good move by expanding the coffee shop to sell baked goods and books as well. He is considering adding a small section to sell coffee makers, but I think we should focus on custom items.

Is This Love?

Is this love? I spend so much time with Sandy, looking into her blue eyes, touching her red hair. I think I may love her...does she love me...for me? Does she care that we own a business and have plenty of simoleans?

Mom and Dad are elders. They have stepped back and left the house to me, well, the apartment. Sandy inhabitants the lower apartment. I decorated the apartment in colors of Africa. Rich golds, reds and burnt oranges. I found furniture from Parasimous and Sims2Play. I am working with A.Pentragnani to create some clothing for me, I want to wear the clothes of African royalty. Mom has the need to remind me that the Kents hail from Tiki Island in the Carribean, however an ancestor of ours, Claudette Walker, has ties in Zimbya on the western African plains. It doesn't matter very much that I don't have direct ties to Africa, but I want to honor my ties.

I wonder if Sandy and I marry will we rent out the lower apartment or simply expand and use the downstairs as part of our home. The upper apartment is only two bedrooms, we could squeeza a third bedroom by adding on over the part of the hallway that looks down on the entrance foyer below. It would be a small room 2x3, but enough for a crib and some toys. Will we have children? Right now I can't worry about such matters, I have a business to prepare for. Dad is stepping back even more and leaving me more in charge. In fact we're supposed to go to dinner and celebrate his transfering the ownership of CupaJava over to me.

CupaJava is preparing for domination :] We are importing more delicious varieties of coffee beans and we're going to sell those beans as well. Also, Dad is going to bake his famous cakes and we're going to sell those as part of the bakery section and we're expanding the bookstore. CupaJava will now be a destination for a cup of cafe latte, the newest Sarry Potts book and a slice of lemon zest layer cake (or take the whole cake home).

I should go, I see Sandy outside.

Our son

Darrel-adult, one simday until elderhood
Elle-adult, one simday until elderhood
Sazo-adult

Our son claims that he has found the love of his life. I hate her. I wish he had chosen the other Simborough woman, she seemed to have more sense about her than...than this Sandy woman. *sigh* to make matters worse, she will be moving into the flat below us. Simoleans are simoleans to Darrel so it doesn't matter that he's opening the door for our son to fall in love with and possibly marry some...some twit.
